Ode to Schaumburg
I know I said I'd change it to an ode for SHS, but I changed my mind. Go ahead, call me a flip-flopper, a waffler, a flapjack, a coin toss, a acrobat, bouncy ball, schloppin, whatever you want.

ODE TO SCHAUMBURG
Schaumburg's really great,
I lived here since I was eight.
Actually it was three,
But that's enough about me.
In this town of 83 thou,
There used to be some hogs and sow-
s. But now there are so many buildings,
That provide us with sun-shieldings.
There are two high schools in the city,
Conant’s the one that we all pity.
There’s also a mall, known as Woodfield,
And many streams where fish are reeled.
We love our folic symbol, the clock tower,
And hate beautification; it’s really sour.
Our library’s second biggest in the state,
And Ikea sells a ton of crates.
That’s the end of this terrible ditty,
I didn’t realize that I write so _____.
I was never much of a poet,
I’m glad that you now know it.
Well, there you have it. A piece of crap. But I didn't promise anything spectacular. Or even half-way decent. Atchison would be appalled.
Let's see, what else is new here?
Congratulations to Allie Walker, Tim Anderson, and Mike O'Neill for their victories in the rigged choir elections. Well done. Vive VanHook.
Um...Septemberfest is coming up. I'll tell you guys all about it. (Are there usually ostriches? It doesn't really matter. You won't be there, so anything I say you'll have to believe.) Yeah, I'm pretty sure Schaumburg went with the Ostrich theme this year. Ostrich performances, Ostrich crafters, Ostriches in the pond, Miss Septemberfest is an Ostrich, and they're serving Ostrich meat, the other, OTHER white meat. Actually it's red.
There, you'd better believe it was the most exciting and unusual Septemberfest ever.
Or it will be, when it occurs.
Well, enjoy your lives, people.
9/1 = Cubs start September 1-0 with a 2-1 victory in 11 innings in Olympic stadium in Montreal. Wood made 119 pitches in 8 scoreless innings, striking out 11. Wonderful. No Decision. Hawk got the win and almost lost it.
Random Factoid: Alcohol is deadly. Don't drink. It's also ILLEGAL!!!! How many of you are breaking the law? Murder is against the law. Why not just kill someone too? Why not go rob a bank or burn down a building. It's all crime, people. It's a slippery slope. You're all bad people.
But I'm not judgemental, not in the slightest. And I won't hold it against you. I just needed to say that.
