That's what I've been cheering all day. It's an old-fashioned phrase meaning "throwback/reminiscent of that year" as in "reminiscent of 1941." Why? Because...
That was the last time Northwestern won a National Championship. Until TODAY!!!!
The Northwestern Women's Lacrosse Team went 21-0 on the season, defeated the reigning champs, Virginia, and clinched the first NU Championship in 64 years! On top of that, it's only the 4th year of the program's existence. I am really excited.
Also, our softball team beat Notre Dame twice today to advance to the Sweet 16. It's great to be a Wildcat.
It's also great to almost be done with choir. I spent a total of about 15 hours of my life this weekend dedicated to a choir I dislike singing music I mostly dislike in a church I dislike. It's over now, though, and I didn't register for the choir for next year, so I have 2 more rehearsals and one more church service until je suis fini (that was a little french for y'all)
What else is new? I'm not asking me, I'm asking you. Please: if you read this post, write something in the Chatterbox to your right so I know people care about me. Muchas Gracias (a little spanish for vosotros)
That's all for today; I'll keep it short.
5/22: Mark Prior pitched all 9 innings, and only gave up 3 solo shots. Luckily, Henry Blanco and Jason Dubois drove in 4 runs with their combined two homers, so the Cubs avoided the Chicago weekend sweep, 4-3, over the ChiSox.
Random Factoid: Dane Cook's new CD, Retaliation, comes out this summer. I've had the opportunity to see him perform his new stuff: it's excellent, buy his CD. You want a preview? "It would really suck to get raped when the song Happy Birthday is playing because you would never be able to listen to that again without crying." Oh, Great Dane (the person, not the dog).
pIp pIp.
